Our Story

Located in the River Walk Mall (River Cinema) The Shire is a movie themed bar & grill that serves amazing smash patty style burgers, grilled sandwiches, wings and apps all fresh from the grill to your plate. Our top two goals are to maintain a positive work environment for the spectacular staff we’ve acquired and maintain food consistency for the amazing customers we’ve received over the years.

In 2008 the River Cinema open it’s doors for the first time in East Grand Forks with just 7 screens to a surprisingly BOOMING demand! Over the years we have added an additional 8 screens, luxury recliners, more concession options, alcoholic beverages and now our very own Bar & Grill The Shire! From our first theater in Blackduck Minnesota to Fosston, Crookston and EGF our customers “YOU” have seen us through it all and we could not be more grateful. This pandemic has affected so many of our lives and businesses and we are moving forward today with your support.
